I am so happy mum is back.
What I am not so happy is my weight.
My weight was steady and dropping at 67.5kg the day when mum arrived.
The next day it went up to 69.
I need to control my craving from mum’s home cooked meals.
I am not sure if it is the age of this apartment or is it the people upstairs have absolute no respect for others. Since Chinese New Year, I noticed the noise coming up the flat above us is growing louder and louder. It could be people playing Mah-jong, walking, dragging furniture, whatever they are doing, it is loud.
We told them a few times and they said they were not aware of this. To me they just don’t seem to care at all. After telling them off, the noise comes right back again.
Friends told me I might be too sensitive because noise does travel from floor to floor. Plus it is an old apartment so noise can also come from old water pipe or just the building/concrete itself.
Anyway, I am close to the boiling point. I never though about getting a new house this soon, but if this does not improve, I might just find a place and move out.
Thank you mum and dad over the last three months. It was great to have you guys around.
爸媽, 有機會多回來å§! 我們都很希望妳們多待久一點!
Mum hasn’t changes a bit, but dad is visibly older.
Still, it is great to see both of them again.
Mum and dad went back to Melbourne this afternoon. It was kind of weird coming home today but did not see them around. Maybe I am used to the noise they make, used to listening to them arguing over nothing. Perhaps, I am just used to have them staying with us.
Suddenly, I miss them both. I wish they can come back again soon.
The funny thing is, in merely a week time, I will be flying back to see them too! This time back to Melbourne is going to be fantastic, and I am sure my wife will love it too! I cannot wait!
This year again ended at a low. Poor economy, switched to a new job function at work, and no bonus.
Then again, looking at the brighter side, I got married, I am still healthy, and happy.
The whole family, including my wife, Joe and Yoshimi checked out the new year countdown firework at Taipei 101. For the fourth consecutive year, I ended the year viewing at the tallest building in the world covered in firework. Regrettably to say, this year’s firework was a disappointment. It was longer, but far less spectacular. However, I had this rare moment to spend the new year with the whole family, plus new family members, so I have nothing to complaint.
Happy New Year 2009 everyone. See you here again at the 2010 countdown.
