So So Hot

I am experiencing quite a lot of strange weather changes recently.

I was in Turkey last year and experienced the coldest day in 10 years, around -10 degrees celsius.
During my honeynoon, when I was in France some said it was the first time since 1937 where it snowed in an October.

This time back in Melbourne, I experiencied three consecutive days of temperatures above 43 degrees celsius, which is the first time in the history of Melbourne weather bureau since records began in 1855.

Coincidently, the mercury peaked at 45 degrees celsius yoday, the hottest in 70 years.

Great, all of these weather changes is making me think one thing. The end of the world is coming.

Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco are playing their semi-final match at the Australian Open right now. I hope Nadal wins.

So Hot

Only a few days back in Melbourne I am already experience something I haven’t experienced in a long time.

Heat.

Melbourne is expecting a four consecutive days of 40 degrees Celsius or more in more than a decade.

Today is the first day, and the weather bureau records the the hottest in six years, at 43.4 degrees.

They expect tomorrow to get even hotter. Oh boy, I cannot wait.

So Quiet

Mum and dad went back to Melbourne this afternoon. It was kind of weird coming home today but did not see them around. Maybe I am used to the noise they make, used to listening to them arguing over nothing. Perhaps, I am just used to have them staying with us.

Suddenly, I miss them both. I wish they can come back again soon.

The funny thing is, in merely a week time, I will be flying back to see them too! This time back to Melbourne is going to be fantastic, and I am sure my wife will love it too! I cannot wait!

Double Alley-Oop

This is cool.

Some dudes made some pretty hilarious comment at Youtube…

How long before LeBron is doing double alley-oops to himself?

Pretty nasty. How come the crowd doesn’t react at all? Is this a regular thing for them? Reminds me of NBA Street and NBA Jam.

i was getting into that girls conversation..

Layoff Again…

Second round of layoff happened today. Well, not that it wasn’t expected, but just everything happened so soon.

30% layoff announced, 18 people will need to leave at the end of the month, just before Chinese New Year. Some are good friends, and some which have worked together for many years.

Maybe I should be happy that my name isn’t mentioned, then again, remain at this company isn’t going to make me happy either.

Who knows when will there be a third round of layoff?

Happy New Year 2009!

This year again ended at a low. Poor economy, switched to a new job function at work, and no bonus.

Then again, looking at the brighter side, I got married, I am still healthy, and happy.

The whole family, including my wife, Joe and Yoshimi checked out the new year countdown firework at Taipei 101. For the fourth consecutive year, I ended the year viewing at the tallest building in the world covered in firework. Regrettably to say, this year’s firework was a disappointment. It was longer, but far less spectacular. However, I had this rare moment to spend the new year with the whole family, plus new family members, so I have nothing to complaint.

Happy New Year 2009 everyone. See you here again at the 2010 countdown.
