A Hit or a Miss?

I received an offer from my Australian subsidary to work there.

Given the current exchange rate, the salary is double of what I am getting now. It is a handsome number. They even kind enough to offer my wife a job too, although the pay isn’t as good, but still higher than what she is getting now.

A great, great opportunity.

I contempated, but finally decided to turn it down.

Strange enough, although the decision is made up, I cannot stop thinking about it. Maybe in a few years time and look back again, then I know if this decision was a hit or a miss.

Incredible Diving…What?

This morning when I turned on the TV and switched to ESPN, it wasn’t showing NBA, MLB, college hoops, swimming or any of the regular sporting events.

It showing the Incredible Driving Dog, an event where dogs compete and see which dog and leap the furthest.

I understand the economy is poor and people are cutting down cost, but please, this is getting meaningless and stupid.

4 Years, All Gone

My HDD went dead. It was my work laptop too.

I am so doomed. 4 years worth of stuff, my important report prepared for my boss on Monday, all gone.

Maybe I should just resign.

Back to Basics

When I was small, mum or dad would go on telling me to do things like, wash your hand before eating, brushing your teeth after a meal, drink a glass of water every morning, and so on. These were simple, routine tasks that I always remembered, but just never really bothered to perform.

New Year’s resolution I set for myself this year, is to get back to basics.

I am not sure about other people, but it’s funny how the older I get, I lose these basics. For example, when I wash my hands, do I really wash them with soap, or do I just wet them? When I brush my teeth, do I really brush by the gum, or do I just use some toothpaste and make a lot of bubbles then rinse them out? These are the things that people just don’t do correctly anymore.

But now, I am doing all, step by step, whether if I am at home, or at work.

I feel good getting back to basics, making everything thorough. People see me doing it, they also start to do them too. I really should have been doing so a long time ago, but it is never too late to get back on track.

My weight is dropping too. Everything is finally falling back into places.

Mmm…iPhone Bringing Me Trouble

My wife is pissed off at me for using iPhone all the time and not spending time with her.

She has every reason to be pissed off at me, but it is not like I am going to play with it all the time.

It is just a new toy, and I am still in the middle of exploring all the functionalities. I do not see why she should get upset over this.

Anyway, I think iPhone is only good for another week or two, then I will just leave it there like every other phones I have owned.

And I am on a twenty months contract too. Shit.

My New Toy!

An iPhone 3G!

Well, maybe I shouldn’t call it a toy, as it is actually one of the most expensive toys I have ever purchased.

Well, I must say this is the most advanced piece of gadget I have used since the PSP. If I have to make a comparison between an iPhone and a PSP, I choose the iPhone to be the winner.

Why? The interface is just too damn good. It is like nothing I have ever used, absolutely out of this world.

Below is what it looks like.

Some people say

Black is the New White

I got the black.

So So Hot

I am experiencing quite a lot of strange weather changes recently.

I was in Turkey last year and experienced the coldest day in 10 years, around -10 degrees celsius.
During my honeynoon, when I was in France some said it was the first time since 1937 where it snowed in an October.

This time back in Melbourne, I experiencied three consecutive days of temperatures above 43 degrees celsius, which is the first time in the history of Melbourne weather bureau since records began in 1855.

Coincidently, the mercury peaked at 45 degrees celsius yoday, the hottest in 70 years.

Great, all of these weather changes is making me think one thing. The end of the world is coming.

Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco are playing their semi-final match at the Australian Open right now. I hope Nadal wins.

So Hot

Only a few days back in Melbourne I am already experience something I haven’t experienced in a long time.

Heat.

Melbourne is expecting a four consecutive days of 40 degrees Celsius or more in more than a decade.

Today is the first day, and the weather bureau records the the hottest in six years, at 43.4 degrees.

They expect tomorrow to get even hotter. Oh boy, I cannot wait.

So Quiet

Mum and dad went back to Melbourne this afternoon. It was kind of weird coming home today but did not see them around. Maybe I am used to the noise they make, used to listening to them arguing over nothing. Perhaps, I am just used to have them staying with us.

Suddenly, I miss them both. I wish they can come back again soon.

The funny thing is, in merely a week time, I will be flying back to see them too! This time back to Melbourne is going to be fantastic, and I am sure my wife will love it too! I cannot wait!
