Back

My nine days Chinese New Year break felt a lot shorter than expected. Like always, whenever I have fun, time seems to move at a much faster pace, and this Chinese New Year break was no exception.

Yep, again, we went to Crown Casino, just like every other time I came back, I spent money and gambled a bit. After all, there is one thing I must continue to remind myself, which is, you can never beat the games at the casino. No, never, and you can never win more than you lose. It is just human nature, that when you start winning, people tend to stick around a bit longer, and by the time you realise it, you have already lost it all.

It is funny how I always try to remind myself this before I play, but at the end I still go home regretting why didn’t I stop sooner.

Meet My Little Nephew

His name is Brendan and he is only two months old. For some reason he looks a lot bigger for a two months old infant.

Brendan is absolutely adorable and playful. It is funny but from memory, most of the infants all they do is cry and cry, but Brendan doesn’t cry much at all.

Brendan loves camera. Everytime I have the camera pointing at Brendan, he would start to smile. He is just simply gorgeous and wonderful to be around with.

Down Under Now

On the plane coming to Melbourne, I saw this this Taiwan news listed under China section. Why? Is it because The Standard is a China newspaper?

Taiwan News Listed Under China Section

Melbourne hasn’t changed that much since the last time I came back. There are a few new buildings, but most of the places have remained pretty much the same. I went to a Japanese grocery store and noticed they have many more flavors of Hi-Chews than the ones being sold in Taiwan.

Anyway, it is good to be with mum and dad again.

Down Under Tomorrow

3pm is my flight, and oh my, I cannot wait to fly back and see my little nephew Brendan. I will be taking a lot of pictures for sure!

I also got my bonus today. Not a lot, but better than last year, so I have nothing to complaint about.

Back in Vietnam, Again

After exactly three weeks, I am back in Ho Chi Minh City again. This trip is bit longer than the last one, and apart from staying in Ho Chi Minh City, I will also visit Hanoi on Sunday, then finally arrive back in Taipei on Monday.

Good that I am not single-handed this time, as country manager and marketing manager are also here. Nevertheless, problems still exist, and so as pressure, but hopefully I will get a bit more time to relax and do some sightseeing over the weekend.

I do want to see some old propaganda pictures though. I love communist artwork.

By the way, I saw SHE on the way to Vietnam. Actually, they just sat right in front of me on the plane. Hebe is nice.

Trouble In Vietnam

Two days ago, a call from my boss, and two days later, I was on a 6am flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Quite frankly, I did not even understand the whole issue until the last few hours before I hopped onto the plane, and only if I knew the situation was this bad, I would have never accepted this trip.

So what’s the big deal about the whole issue? Well, to make story short, our Vietnamese customer claims we need to pay them USD400k, but at most we can only offer then around USD90k. Here, negotiate to the customer and come up with a win-win solution. By the way, do it fast.

Mmmmmmm…yes, to convince the customer to accept 90k instead of 400k. REAL EASY HUH??

Apart from work, I do find my hotel room quite nice. Although Vietnam is not exactly a wealthy country overall, but on the contrary, this is the best hotel I have stayed out of all of my business trips.
